Each have been linked with the coaching position at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on Monday.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss described the Glasgow giants as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with the Championship side.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they presently occupy 12th in the Championship.

"There have been such discussions," the English capital native former Irish youth international said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I possess a unique position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Everything outside of that hasn't touched my radar."

Context and Agreement Aspects

It has been suggested that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about these. "I don't think all people has to go around and announce what they used to be, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a new four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his alleged buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he responded. "I don't know what mine are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Ipswich manager forever. I understand that's not always going to be the situation, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Situation

The former striker played for the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh striker is inclined to finish the current World Cup qualification, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from assuming the Glasgow position.

Wales are presently third in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and their rivals in next month would book their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are all but guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive Nations League performance, should they not end up Group J runners-up.

Considering his present stance, Bellamy, whose agreement expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until following the play-offs at the earliest.
