US performer Finn, who appeared in beloved programs like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
