New Information Surface Concerning the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the untimely demises of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Discovery

As detailed in an account referencing a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

When she went into the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore refuted circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
