Mohamed Salah Offers Regret to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team following the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has chosen not to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
