Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
