Bills' Disappointing Performance Gives New England Route to AFC East Lead - Best of NFL Week 10

Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League
That result may have opened things up for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Containing the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates registering just 86 yards, their fewest of the season and just over half their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine-minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter fumble that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defense and Allen attempting to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, balanced Bills we've witnessed this year
Miami have served up a varied performances this season so the jury's out on whether this is the beginning of a trend, but for the Bills they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three eight and two teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?
One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly deserves credit for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his team to success
The defense is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth runner to break 22 miles per hour this year on his initial touchdown
Although you can argue who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, although a significant contest against Buffalo
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the door is available for a shock top seed in the AFC
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with solid claims to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who both scored forty points to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in LA
Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Each could realistically be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
